Yahoo, Google and Microsoft Standardize Sitemaps

Yahoo, Google and Microsoft have agreed to standardize sitemaps using Sitemap 0.9

It looks like it’s the format that Goolge has been using all along.

And you can ping the search engines as well with

<searchengine_URL>/ping?sitemap=sitemap_url
