Rails test bed site - Cool Nick Names

I wanted to try out a bunch of rails stuff to see how hard it was to build a site from scratch using plugins like login engine, acts_as_taggable , RJS, acts_as_rateable.
So Cool.Nick.Name is the result. About 30 hours of work and I have a user generated content site working. Probably 15 hours was spent on low value add stuff like ajax problems with IE, getting rails working on apache, and a bunch of other stuff that basically relates to things not being as easy as they should be. Better docs would have helped speed things up, and the next site will only take 15- 20 hours.
It’s amazing to me how fast you can put together something like this now. It used to take much, much more work and skill to do.
Even though it’s easy, I still think there is room for a pre-formated rails configurations/websites with specific intent like user generated content or other genres.
