Why I believe in Santa Claus - My top ten reasons

It’s Santa Claus time, but my kids just seem to be getting more and more skeptical each year about Santa Claus.
Well, I believe in Santa Claus. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
So here’s my top ten reasons for believing in Santa Claus:
- Just because we don’t understand something, doesn’t mean it ain’t so.
- Santa Claus was a very real guy named Nickolas, who had such a reputation for secret gift giving that he was recognized as a Saint.
The story goes that Saint Nick came across a poor man who had three daughters but could not afford a proper dowry for them. In those ancient times, the absence of a dowry could very well mean that they would remain unmarried and probably, in absence of any other possible employment would have to become prostitutes. When Saint Nick heard of the problem, he decided to help the three daughters but being too modest (or too shy) to help them in public, he went to his house under the cover of night and threw three purses filled with gold coins through the window opening onto their floor.
- Wikipedia believes in Santa Claus. If they didn’t why would they have a whole page dedicated to Santa Claus
- So does Yahoo Answers, When asked if Santa was real or not. The best answer was “Do you REALLY think your parents could afford all the stuff you got for C-mas every year? IF not then WHO do you think brought it to you?”
- Just watch Miracle on 34th Street and tell me you don’t believe.
- The North American Aerospace Defense Command, Norad, has the evidence that proves Santa gets around. Each year they track Santa’s progress around the world. Norad says it uses a spy satellite in space to pick up the glow from Rudolph’s nose. It then follows the sleigh using radar along the northern border of North America before two Canadian fighter jets are sent up to act as an escort (and make sure he is not an imposter). NOrad also knows how he gets so much done in such a short time.
A spokesman for Norad said: “The fact that Santa Claus is more than 15 centuries old and does not appear to age is our biggest clue that he does not work within time as we know it.” Instead he “somehow functions on a different space and time continuum”. So Christmas Eve - which seems impossibly brief to us - could actually feel to him like days, weeks or months. If you don’t believe, just call NORAD at 1-877- Hi-NORAD and they will tell you what’s what. - Millions of people acting as Santa’s helpers buy and give gifts to people they just plain don’t know. Now why would they do that if they didn’t think Santa was real, but needs a little help now and then. Just look at the US Marines, from 1947 - 2003 the U.S. Marines distributed 313 million toys to 151 million needy children through it’s Toys for Tots Foundation.
- The spirit of Santa is everywhere. Just this past weekend, my nine year old was bugging me to give him his allowance. So when we were at the store I got some extra cash for him. He used a bit of it to buy some gum, but then without so much as a single word he made a beeline to nearest Salvation Army bucket to make a big donation. I like to think he was feeling the Santa spirit.
- Every year we put out the cookies and milk for Santa, and every year those cookies get eaten and that milk gets drunk.
- It just feels a lot better to believe in the spirit of giving that Santa represents. Without Santa our lives just would not be the same.
No Santa Claus? The next thing they’ll be telling me is that they don’t believe in elves, and every parent knows how real the elves are and how hard they work every year to make Christmas just a bit brighter for our kids.
Thank God Santa Claus lives and lives forever.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
