This is my blog about using Amazon’s Web Service platform to host and run some websites. I have currently overloaded my shared hosting environment and am suffering from limits being placed on my website connections.

AWS looks like an interesting alternative, so I thought I would give it a try.

I want to use EC2 - elastic computing cloud - with S3 - simple storage service - for backup. EC2 is not currently accepting in users so I will get started on my on box and then port it up to EC2 when I can get on.

The web apps use a mix of php and rails, so I will be installing apache, mongel, mysql on a fedora 6 core image.
