Changing the Game

This must be one of the most interesting weeks in US politics.  Obama received the nomination.  Truly a first. He also picked Biden as his running mate and clarified his positions as the traditional demo platform.  Obama has definitely moved to change his game. Not so post partisan after all.  Change is not about unification, but about changing from Reps to Dems.

McCain is picking Palin as I write this.  One way or another this election will make history.  McCain’s pick also changes the game.  He lessens the strength of his experience advantage, but also weakens Obama’s claim to be the change candidate.  He also puts the women’s vote in flux.  How will they weigh her sisterhood vs her experience?  The other thing McCain’s pick does is suck the air out of the Obama lift from Denver.  Who wants to read about his speach, when they can focus on figuring out who Palin is.

Whatever your views, seeing this kind of change is amazing.
